The Gift of a Nourishing Environment

It is the start of a new week and today I am writing from my local library and looking out on a gorgeous spring day, full of blues and greens and purples and reds, texture and the gentle movement of the breeze and the play of light and shadow on the leaves of the trees in their various stages of blooming. I can see the river in the background with its immense capacity, covered in sparkling ripples.

This beautiful scene in front of me combines with the peaceful quiet of the library itself, and the cozy soft weight of the blanket I brought on my lap. Even the clicking of the keys on my laptop have a soothing quality. This environment nourishes me and, as such, I am able to feel myself in my body, access my own attention, and come to you here with my thoughts. Your environment may look very different and still, with intention, care, and some simple practices, your space can also nourish you and support your work in this way.

Over the past couple weeks, so many of you who connected with me expressed a desire for that type of peaceful environment in your home. Thank you for sharing your desires with me.

Today I am thinking about how often I have named a desire, either to learn something new or to solve a problem. And then when a solution or a path to a solution presents itself to me, I have turned away. I have various theories on what this impulse is all about.

Sometimes, I believe it is a sign that I am not ready. I don't have capacity. It is not the right time. Something else requires a more urgent attention. I trust and honor myself when this is the case.

Other times, I can see that it is pure resistance: a force that comes up when I am on the brink of a new challenge, the next level of growth or learning. I see this resistance as a natural impulse to protect, to remain in the safety and relative comfort of a pattern of behavior that I know is not serving me but is at least familiar.

I have taken time with myself to practice discerning between the two. I invite you to do the same.

Over the past two years I have developed a system of supporting people with establishing a nourishing environment in their homes that honors the body's wisdom. The system is simple and powerful and through this work, you will be empowered to take back the role of sovereign in your space.

Today, I am inviting you into Reclaim Your Space in a new form: a 6-week course with a high level of support where you can both learn and implement new practices and new ways of engaging with your environment that will stay with you. You will build these skills into your day-to-day in a seamless way that changes how you see and respond to your space, and that is unique to your own needs and challenges.

Asking for support is a vulnerable and courageous act. Each time I ask for support (whether from a friend, partner, service professional, or teacher), it requires trust, a willingness to be seen, and a willingness to admit that I can't do it all on my own.

I honor those of you who have already reached out to me with requests for support and those of you who have shared the challenges you are facing in your homes. Now I invite you to take this next step towards a solution:

Click the link for the Reclaim Your Space Masterclass. Read the details of the curriculum. Read past students' experience. And ask yourself the question: 'Is this for me now?'

We all have different ways of making decisions. For me, it is often as simple as getting quiet and dropping the question in for my body to respond to. Try my method or use a method that works well for you.

If you get a yes, trust it. Step in. Register for the course. I will hold you on this journey. You may feel the resistance come up and know that that is also okay. It might just mean you are on to something that will be powerful in shifting outdated patterns in your life.

If you get a no, trust it. This might not be your time. I am still here for you and I invite you to stay connected, as a future opportunity might be more aligned for you.

Thank you for being a part of this beautiful community.
